I’m thinking about going the Day 1 CPT route, but I’m kinda stressed about picking the right school. I’ve heard some programs are red-flagged or super sketchy, and with all the recent SEVIS terminations, I really don’t want to risk messing up my status.
Just trying to find a school that’s solid and won’t cause problems later on—like with visa stuff or future applications. I’m willing to be flexible in all other aspects.
If anyone’s in a program they feel good about or knows which ones to avoid, I’d seriously appreciate the info.
Yeah, picking the right school matters a lot now. Some CPT schools are way too aggressive and can trigger RFEs later.
I’ve heard decent things about Monroe, NEC, and Harrisburg — they’re not perfect, but at least they’re SEVP-certified and have been around for a while. Just make sure you keep all your documents (I-20s, CPT letters, pay stubs) super organized.
Would love to hear if others have more recent updates too — things change fast.
I work in Seattle, so I can’t go too far from work. I’ve heard there aren’t any Day 1 CPT programs here, so I’m now looking at schools in California. Fingers crossed I find a right one
