OPT Ending Soon, anyone can share Day 1 CPT Application Timeline?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently on my stem OPT, which is set to expire soon, and I’m waiting for my last chance in the March H1B lottery. As a backup plan, I’m exploring Day 1 CPT options, but I’m a bit unsure about the timeline and how to go about it.

I was wondering if anyone here could share their timeline or any tips? Specifically, I’d like to know:

1.How far in advance did you start the application process?
2.How long did it take to get admitted, receive the I-20, and have your CPT approved?
3.Were there any unexpected delays or challenges

I’m trying to plan everything carefully and avoid last-minute issues.

What does “soon” mean? Probably it would be helpful for everyone to know what your actual timeline is…

The application deadline is at least a month before the semester start date, usually take a week to get the admission and another week to get the i-20, cpt would be additional week on top of that
