I’m considering day 1 CPT as one of my backup options if not selected for h1b this year. but I don’t want to do it unless it is absolutely necessary. Some of my friends said that day 1 CPT schools have very flexible application deadlines, In some of them you can even apply after the class starts.
what is the hard application deadline? is one week before the listed enrollment date ok?
which schools have more flexible deadlines and can issue I-20 the fastest?
I’d say apply asap, also depending on when your OPT ends. The next intake for many schools will be May, then July. I’m thinking about applying right after the lottery cuz I need a May intake if I don’t get the H-1B…
It depends. My suggestion is to apply about 2 months in advance.
The university application would takes you too long.
General rule of thumb, don’t be the one that apply on the last day of application deadline.
My advice, try to do it a month in advance, and once you gather all the information and have time to submit the apps, do it at least 1 week before the deadline, which sometimes is 2-3 weekends before the program starts, or longer.
