OPT ending soon, H1B not picked, Day 1 CPT or second master’s?

Hey guys,

My STEM OPT ends in 4 months and I didn’t get picked in this year’s H1B.
Now I’m stuck deciding between joining a Day 1 CPT school to keep working or doing a second master’s at a regular F1 program.

Kinda stressed tbh I don’t want to mess up future visa stuff with CPT, but I also can’t afford to just stop working.

Anyone here gone through this recently? What did you choose, and how did it go?

Appreciate any advice :folded_hands:

The experience at CPT university shouldn’t affect other future identities, right? It seems that as long as you choose the right school and major, there shouldn’t be much of a problem.

People have differing opinions, but I believe that if Day 1 CPT exists in this market for a long time, we should be fine, at least from my understanding.

What’s your end goal? If you wanna keep working you could do Day 1 CPT, but if you wanna do another masters anyways you could keep your options open and study something more specialized
