If You Get Picked for H-1B… Would You Still Keep Studying? 🎓

I’ve been wondering — if you get picked for H-1B, would you still finish your degree?

For many of us, school is mainly a way to stay in status while hoping for the lottery. But once you’re selected, the pressure’s off.

So what would you do?

• Keep studying to finish what you started?

• Or stop and start working full-time right away?

I’m curious — anyone been in this situation? What did you choose, and do you regret it? :backhand_index_pointing_down:

I’d choose to at least finish the current semester to make the move look less suspicious. Finishing the whole program is just too expensive.

at least finish the semester that is going on…otherwise it looks like you’ve never cared about studying

I don’t think so, but when would be a good time to drop? Does anyone have suggestions?

maybe if my employer has tuition reimbursement haha

I’ve heard some universities provide discount to those who get selected. Like Monroe

I think now if you go to any immigration attorney for H1B application, with a Day 1 CPT background, they would suggest not dropping out of school after change of status. Is your choice at the end of the day, but I would finish my degree.

I would keep studying because I’m approaching to a graduation anyway

I will drop off honestly… since day1cpt is just my solution to stay in USA …
