I feel like the answer is NO, but not sure.
E-Verify is not required for CPT.
Nope. CPT and H1B Employers are not required to get E-verified.
No, your CPT employer does not need to be E-Verified.
E-Verify is only a requirement for STEM OPT extension, not for CPT.
However, your employer does need to meet a few basic requirements for CPT approval:
Offer a job that is directly related to your major
Provide a formal offer letter with job title, duties, start/end date, hours, and company info
Give you tasks that are appropriate for your academic level (e.g., grad vs. undergrad)
Allow you to start only after CPT is approved and reflected on your I-20
Some schools may also want:
• A supervisor’s contact info
• A signed CPT agreement form (school-specific)
• A clear job description showing academic relevance
As long as the job fits your program and your school approves it, your employer doesn’t have to be E-Verified or sponsor you long term.
CPT doesn’t require e-verify.
