How easy to find a job under CPT?

Does anyone know if it is easy to find a job under CPT? Since I have no EAD, what do I show to my employer?

Not super easy, but not impossible either — really depends on the company.

Most employers don’t know what CPT is, so you’ll have to explain it. Just let them know it’s part of your degree and legally allows you to work while studying. No EAD needed — you just show your I-20 with CPT approval and maybe a school letter if they ask.

Startups and smaller companies tend to be more chill about it. Big corps… hit or miss.

So yeah, be ready to do a little educating during the interview

For CPT, all your employer needs to do is complete a simple form. I think that as long as you explain it clearly, most small and medium companies are okay with doing it. However, as someone mentioned above, larger companies often have stricter HR policies, so it really comes down to their internal rules.

t’s not easy to find a job under CPT, especially without an EAD. Some employers may not understand CPT or prefer candidates with full work authorization. You’ll need to explain your status clearly and show your CPT I-20 as proof that you’re legally allowed to work for a specific employer.

Does anyone know how hard it is to find a job under CPT?

Since I don’t have an EAD card, what do I actually show to employers when I apply or get hired?

Would love to hear how others handled this—especially if you’re on Day 1 CPT or had to explain it to recruiters or HR.

I remember there was an agency that specifically compiled information on employers that support CPT.

It’s not that hard to find jobs in a small-medium company, but for big companies, their policy are more strict
