I’m still at the very early stage.. I guess the biggest problem is how to find a employer who are willing to sponsor and also how to maintain your status during the process.

You need to maintain your status and CPT work authorization until your I-485 gets approved.

waiting time is long. do you mean from OPT to greencard? many firms offer day-1 greencard, though you’ll have to figure out a legal way to stay here while waiting for your 1-140 getting approved. depending on which country you came from, it could be ages.
