Using AI prompted text for communication

How experience do you think the avg recruiter is in spotting AI text in emails/cover letters/resumes? i’m looking for a new job but work’s pretty busy so I haven’t been able to seriously dedicate time to the job hunt…

don’t dedicate yourself too much on a meaningless and no growth job. my suggestion is try to learn prompt engineering when you go back home. self learning is always the key to growth.

I write my own draft then us AI to revise.. I think they are pretty useful. I asked the AI to revise it in a way that sounds more professional in terms of language and word choices.

Honestly? Most recruiters probably can tell when something feels too generic or overly polished — especially in emails and cover letters. But I don’t think they’re sitting there running AI detectors on every doc.

That said, if you use AI tools (which, let’s be real, we all do now), just make sure to tweak the tone a bit so it sounds like you. Add personal details or specific examples — that’s what makes it feel real.

I’ve used ChatGPT to get started, then just edited it down to sound more “me.” Saves time and doesn’t come off as robotic.

I use AI a lot! no matter for revise my resume or revise any draft

I think they use AI to screen out AI answers…lol…so basically both sides are AI empowered and no one is sincere anymore these days.

Honestly, most recruiters aren’t actively trying to “catch” AI-generated text unless it’s super obvious like super generic, robotic phrasing or weird formatting.

That said, they can usually tell when something sounds off or overly polished in a way that doesn’t match the rest of your application. Think: too much buzzword salad, or stuff that doesn’t feel personal or specific to the role.

email is fine, but resume and cover letter I would be careful with them. AI touch is okay but if the HR spotted heavy AI edits you will look like a lot of other people. Focus on making your introduction to them unique, if you have numbers, achievement to back that up, even better. AI cannot do that for you
