Ok last post about jobs for a while I hope but does anyone have experience going to an official project manager role from a different title? I feel like I’m doing pm work without the title, and i’m trying to figure out how to frame that on my resume.
Follow up question - does anyone have exp w/ studying for pmp certification? what classes did you take?
I can totally answer that for you
I’m GoElite’s Community Manager, and a big part of my role involves project management.
Project management exists across tons of domains—tech, construction, HR, and more. The key is figuring out which domain you’re passionate about, diving deep, and finding ways to make an impact. The core skills are transferable, but each field has its own flavor.
If you’re thinking about getting PMP certified, here are a few great resources to get started:
- Udemy – AR’s PMP course (great for the required 35 PDUs and foundational learning)
- Third3Rock Notes – solid for review (I’m actually working on my own version too!)
- David McLachlan’s Q&A series on YouTube – super helpful for practice questions
- PMI Study Hall – great for mock exams and real-exam feel
Happy to chat more if you’re interested!
do you know how long the udemy course would take?
I remember it’s around 30 hrs. I usually turn on 2X speed, so it took me only 3 days to finish them (including the exams).
