MSCS without CS bacgkround

Does anyone know anything about the bridge program for the MSCS at Westcliff? I was wondering about how to break in to CS, is this like a bootcamp?

Hey @letsgo87 — good question!

Westcliff’s MSCS bridge program is designed for students without a CS background. It’s not exactly a “bootcamp” — it’s more like a set of intro courses (think programming, algorithms, basic systems) you complete before or alongside your master’s classes.

It’s meant to get you up to speed, but expect to do some self-study too if you want stronger hands-on skills (especially for job hunting).

Good luck — breaking into CS is totally doable if you stay curious! :rocket:

How does the job market look for PM jobs vs software engineer?

@letsgo87

Anecdotally from friends in these fields:

Differences: software is broader in terms of the skills and certifications one can have, which also means there’s less of a standard path to enter

Similarities: juniors will have a hard time while seniors have more opportunities

To be honest though, job market is just all-around terrible for most fields right now :grimacing:
