Start-up or medium size companies for Day 1 CPT

In the process of moving to Day 1 CPT cuz didn’t get picked for this years lottery..

Also in the process of looking for a new job. Job market is not that great and saw many lay-off at the big corps..

Do you think smaller company or start-ups are more open to Day 1 CPT? I personally heard from some of my friends who went to small tech or healthcare companies, their employers are literally involved in their Day 1 CPT application and helping them to figure out the process of H-1B alternatives.. Some of them even get sponsored by the company.

When is my turn to meet a boss like that :frowning:

If you are considering day1 cpt, start-up companies are usually more open to discuss and willing to sponsor your green card in the future, medium size companies have solid policies to follow, they don’t have room to negociate.

Honestly? Smaller companies and start-ups can be more flexible — they’re not always familiar with Day 1 CPT, but once they understand it’s legal and you’re enrolled in school, they’re often more chill about it.

I’ve seen people have way better luck with startups or niche healthcare/tech firms than with big-name companies that just auto-reject anything visa-related. Smaller teams = more human conversations.

And yeah… the dream is finding that unicorn boss who’s like, “Yeah, I’ll help you figure this out.” Still waiting for mine too

True true but under the current economy… fingers crossed for all the small businesses :crossed_fingers: Even big ones are having so many lay-offs I’m scared…

Start-ups you have the most chance, or else check the day 1 cpt employer list by GoElite, some mid-size employers are included there too.

why are you looking for a new job lol

Start-up companies are more likely to discuss with you about CPT while medium size companies maybe more strict

Hypothetically, yes. But I have never seen people surrounding success yet. Do let me know if you have a DP on that.
