Hello everyone, i have been doing my masters as day 1 cpt program my h1 b didnt get picked. i extended my course work by taking phd in IT( Ai spcl) from university of Cumberlands. Its getting very difficult to find a job i have almost 4 + years of experience in states as a software engineer engineer worked in fintech. I am unable to land of any project with vendors rejecting my visa on contract based roles and even full time. I keep explaining i am very cheap to hire .i also said i dont need sponsorship also. Still i haven’t been getting any calls. Could you please give me any input or if you know anyone who are similar in situation?
The situation is difficult now. I suggest you to discuss with some of your mentors or friends for help. Further try to network in some events. In the US, networking is the key to land a job…
- Even though you’re saying you don’t need sponsorship, many companies are unfamiliar with Day 1 CPT or hesitant to engage with F1 visa holders due to compliance concerns.
- Some recruiters may incorrectly assume that hiring someone on CPT is risky for legal reasons.
