Reason Behind Saint Peter's Day 1 CPT Sudden Shut Down (non-official)

Saint Peter’s University’s hybrid professional (Day 1 CPT) program was shut down today. All currently enrolled and admitted students must transfer their SEVIS records out of those programs immediately, with a deadline set for this Friday.

According to non-official sources, these programs were deemed non-compliant with SEVP’s hybrid program requirements and can no longer issue F-1 I-20s. The university might release more information later this week. However, it remains unclear whether SEVP will provide or had provided a formal explanation regarding the shutdown.

Saint Peter’s previously required on-campus attendance for 1 weekend per trimester. If this policy is now being scrutinized by the government, there are growing concerns about other programs with even fewer in-person requirements.

I hope people in the thread stay strong together, and if you need help definitely reach out!

Is it an isolated case, or does it reflect a broader trend toward a tougher stance on CPT schools?

As far as I know, SPU is the only one violating some kind of rules and lost its SEVIS approval. Other universities have sent out notice to students that they are fully compliant.
