Saint Peter’s University’s MSBA & MSDS Hybrid Programs Lose SEVP Recognition

Hey everyone, I just got word that Saint Peter’s University’s MSBA (Master of Science in Business Analytics) and MSDS (Master of Science in Data Science) hybrid programs are no longer recognized by SEVP as of today.

A friend of mine is currently studying in one of these programs, and this news has created a lot of uncertainty. For those unfamiliar, SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program) recognition is crucial for international students to maintain their F-1 visa status. Without it, students may face issues related to their legal stay in the U.S. and work authorizations like CPT/OPT.

If you’re also enrolled in these programs or know someone who is, it’s important to:
:small_blue_diamond: Check your SEVIS status immediately to see if there are any updates.
:small_blue_diamond: Reach out to the school’s DSO (Designated School Official) for official guidance on next steps.
:small_blue_diamond: Explore potential transfer options if this affects your visa status.
:small_blue_diamond: Stay informed about SEVP’s latest updates to understand what this means long-term.

Has anyone else been impacted by this? If so, what steps are you taking? Let’s keep each other informed and support those who might be in a tough spot right now.

The school’s notice to students is very sudden. Why not give students a heads-up in advance?

It seems like the university’s office is pretty at shock, too.
