Do your employer reimburse your Day 1 CPT tuition?

I heard some employers do reimbursement. I am wondering how to talk with my HR and boss about it.

I’ve heard that some companies might be able to deduct tuition reimbursement as a business expense or get tax benefits from it. Maybe you could bring it up and see if your employer has looked into it?

If they’re open to it, they might find it’s actually a win-win.

I wish…but I don’t think it is a common thing. I feel lucky that they take cpt authorization as a work permit, cuz I’ve heard many don’t for some reasons.

No. I heard some of the companies do. Would love to see people share some company names if they don’t mind

I wish lol. Not even a chance. I used to work at a University in NY, they provide tuition reimburse of $1000/year for full time employees working over 2years there. I left before 2 years came lol.

Are you also on CPT? Does your employer reimburse yours? :ear:

Once you talked your employer through. Pleas share your experience with us on this platform!

If it’s available, I would use an education stipend

I just talked with the HR. And she shared me some tuition assistance resource provided by our company. I suggest you to contact your HR about reimbursement.

Oh! Interesting and thanks for sharing. Is your employer fully sponsoring your tuition??

Thanks for sharing. Good to know.

I wish!! where can I find this employer?

Nah.. I heard some finance company do for Goldey Beacom College

Yeah, some companies do offer reimbursement — especially if it’s related to visa fees or even tuition if you’re studying while working. The key is really how you bring it up. Something like:

“Hi [HR], I wanted to check if the company has any reimbursement policies for employees on F1/H1B visas — for example, application fees or educational programs tied to work eligibility. I’ve heard of similar support at other companies and wanted to understand if this is something available here.”

Even if they say no, it puts the idea on their radar.
