I have received a new job offer from Amazon for BIE. However, Amazon is hesitant to sign the EAF document from New England College, which is necessary for obtaining a new I-20 for the Day 1 CPT visa. Amazon is prepared to provide an employment verification letter and an offer letter, but the college is not accepting these documents.
Has anyone else recently received an offer from Amazon and encountered a similar situation?Appreciate any insights
You may find your colleagues to sign the form for you. If no one can fill the form for you, you might have to consider change to another school who doesn’t require the form.
I haven’t personally seen Amazon sign an EAF for New England College recently, and this seems to be a common hurdle with larger corporations. Many big companies, including Amazon, are reluctant to sign anything they perceive as a “school form” due to legal and compliance concerns.
A few people I know in similar situations have had to work with the school to see if the EAF could be slightly reworded or replaced with alternative documentation (e.g., a combination of the official offer letter and a detailed employment verification letter). Sometimes, the school will accept a manager-signed job description on company letterhead instead of the exact EAF format, but this depends heavily on the DSO’s flexibility.
