Westcliff University DBA Experience – Honest Insights for New Students

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share some thoughts about my experience in the DBA program at Westcliff University, especially for those who are considering enrolling or just getting started. Hopefully this helps you navigate things more smoothly!

:white_check_mark: CPT Authorization & Advisor Support

One of the biggest advantages of studying at Westcliff is how quickly CPT (Curricular Practical Training) is authorized. If you’re looking to start working while studying, this is a huge plus.

Also, the academic advisors are super responsible and responsive. They usually reply quickly and try their best to support you with planning courses and handling any issues with registration, OPT/CPT, or course selection.

:warning: Professors – A Mixed Bag

This is where things get a bit more complicated.

Some professors are amazing — they’re professional, experienced, and very understanding. For example:

  • Eduardo Haynes (DBA) – assignments are manageable, deadlines flexible, no pressure to turn on your camera during class.

However, others can be very demanding, with:

  • Heavy workloads
  • Strict grading
  • Little to no communication
  • Some even with reputations for being extremely tough (like Chris Hogan — people say the stress level can drive you to the hospital… yikes :cherries:)

:light_bulb: Pro Tip: Check Professor Ratings Before Enrolling

At the beginning of each term, use the Westcliff course rating system to check reviews of professors before registering. It can make a huge difference in your study-life balance!

Thanks for sharing this! Westcliff’s DBA contains a lot of STEM concentrations, and I believe it is really valuable for those who want to gain professional growth as well as maintain their status in the US!
