Hey everyone! I’ve been seriously thinking about applying for a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program and wanted to share what I’ve found so far — and hopefully get some insight or advice from others who are further along in the process
After doing some research, these are the four programs that have caught my eye:
Westcliff University – Irvine, CA
Onsite: Once per semester
STEM certified (which is a big plus for international students like me — OPT extension!)
I like that it’s pretty flexible and the Irvine location is appealing. STEM certification makes it stand out, especially career-wise.
National Louis University – Florida
Onsite: Once per semester
Not STEM
The Florida location sounds nice and the low residency requirement works for my schedule, but I’m not sure how it compares academically or in terms of networking.
Ottawa University – Phoenix, AZ (Requires work experience)
Onsite: Once per semester
Not STEM
This one seems great for experienced professionals. I do meet the work experience requirement, but I’m curious how it compares in terms of reputation and faculty support.
Sofia University – CA
Onsite: **Once per month
Not STEM
I’ve heard Sofia has a unique, more holistic approach to leadership, which I find intriguing. Just not sure if I can commit to the monthly onsite format.
Right now, I’m leaning toward Westcliff mainly because of the STEM certification and the more relaxed residency schedule, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s attended any of these schools or looked into them before.
Questions I have:
How’s the academic rigor at these schools?
Any feedback on career support, especially for international students?
Is monthly onsite worth it in terms of connection and learning?
Appreciate any thoughts or experiences you can share!
