After weeks of obsessively comparing schools, I finally landed on Humphreys University. Wanted to share my thought process and see if anyone else here is at Humphreys or thinking about it!
I’d been torn between Trine, Westcliff, and Humphreys. Trine was tempting because it’s way cheaper, but some of the reviews I saw online made me hesitate. Westcliff seems super popular and reliable too, but in the end I went with Humphreys.
Why Humphreys?
Since I’m living and working in Seattle, my options in WA were slim , so I looked up to Northern California, and Humphreys stood out for a few reasons:
- Their policy lets you begin work a month before classes, which lines up nicely with my OPT end dates.
- And I only need to be on campus one weekend per semester and there’s a two-week break after each semester, plus two mandatory annual breaks built into the curriculum. For me, it means less burnout risk.
- What surprised me is that, the tuition is around $3,500/semester (no extra CPT fees!), which feels much more manageable than schools that charge additional fees.
Humphreys doesn’t get a ton of online discussions, but plenty of friends I know are either at Humphreys or eyeing it too. I’ve already put together a study group with a few classmates, has been super helpful for admissions advice, picking classes, and future projects.
Everything I’ve heard so far about student experience is positive. Hopefully I’ll keep updating this thread with my day-to-day experiences once classes start.
If anyone has studied at Humphreys before, I’d love any tips on courses or concentrations. And if you’re also starting in July, Please DM me so we can buddy up for those weekend sessions!
