F1 to H-1B: Is the Lottery Still a Viable Path in 2025?

Many F1 students hope to transition to an H-1B visa after graduation, but the demand keeps increasing, making the lottery more unpredictable. Given the recent trends and possible policy changes, is relying solely on the H-1B a smart move? What alternative paths (Day 1 CPT, O-1, EB2-NIW, etc.) should students consider to stay and work in the U.S.?

why wouldnt it be viable? lol the chances are low but if you want it just go for it

Some of the trends from the last Biden administration, people who has companies overseas, started business entities in the US and apply L1 for themselves. I guess this is not something for working class but it’s competitive compare to an EB5 investment

Relying solely on H-1B is risky due to increasing demand and unpredictability. Students should explore alternatives like Day 1 CPT (for continued work authorization), O-1 (for individuals with extraordinary abilities), and EB2-NIW (for those with advanced degrees and national interest contributions). Exploring multiple options increases the chances of staying and working in the U.S.
