A friend of mine is on an F1 visa and wants to start the Green Card process but is struggling to find an employer willing to sponsor an EB3 skilled position. His attorney suggested that he apply for an EB3 unskilled role in a remote location (like a fast-food restaurant), as the process may be faster. However, the EB3 unskilled backlog is now 6–7 years. Is this still a reasonable path, or are there better alternatives?
It really depends on how desirable and how many pay you want to invest in chasing the American Dream.
Definitely talk to several immigration lawyers to see available options if I were your friend.
