Just curious, would CPT be affected under this new administration? Any thoughts?
I think the overall policy regarding CPT, OPT and even H-1B got tighter.. Not sure if anything will change very dramatically tho.. hopefully not

That’s a great question — I’ve been wondering the same. So far, there’s been no official statement about canceling CPT, but a more enforcement-heavy administration could start scrutinizing certain schools more closely, especially those offering Day 1 CPT.
In past cycles (especially under Trump), SEVP audits increased, and a few schools were put on notice. That doesn’t mean CPT will be banned, but students might face more RFE risks when applying for H1B if the school’s reputation is questionable.
That said, there are still schools that have been offering CPT for years without issues — it’s all about choosing the right one.
