My friend just got into a Day 1 CPT university that requires onsite classes every 8 weeks, but his job is in a different state.

Onsite requirements are strict for F1 students; missing a session could lead to SEVIS termination. Contact the school for a makeup session in case of an emergency. I’m unsure about your last question.
